The founder-acharya of ISKCON and the world's most prolific Vedic scholar
His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896–1977) was a Vaishnava monk, philosopher, and cultural ambassador of ancient India. At the age of 69, he sailed alone to New York with just ₹40 and a trunk of his translated books — and went on to establish ISKCON (the International Society for Krishna Consciousness) across 108 countries. He personally authored or translated over 80 books, including the landmark Bhagavad-gita As It Is and the 18-volume Srimad-Bhagavatam — the most widely distributed Vedic texts in the modern world.
"If you read Bhagavad-gita, you will find the solution to all problems of life."
